Vice President, Marketing

Location: Remote/Hybrid

Description:

The VP Marketing will play a key role in building Highland’s brand awareness, driving customer and stakeholder engagement, and cementing the company’s position as the leading name in fleet electrification in North America.

Among other things, the VP of Marketing will: Use integrated marketing principles to create and execute engaging marketing and advertising campaigns and assess their efficacy; Lead message development and product marketing; Collaborate with other executives to make high-level decisions regarding marketing budget and products; Build Highland and its’ executives thought leadership with key stakeholders, including customers, partners, suppliers, and the financial community; Create and maintain a successful brand and image that attracts customers to the Highland business model.

Responsibilities

  • Brand: Developing brand strategies, promoting brand growth and expansion, implementing brand plans, and using a variety of data to drive volume and profitability.

  • Marcom: Creating and managing all marketing materials, PR, and collateral in line with brand direction. Implementing online marketing activities including social media, SEO/SEM, demand generation, lead generation, etc. Overseeing content marketing program strategy and implementation. Tracking the effectiveness of various campaigns and course corrections as required.

  • Digital marketing: Developing digital channels and leverage them to drive brand awareness and generate leads.

  • Product marketing and sales enablement: Working closely with sales, market development and origination teams to assess needs, resolve challenges and present solutions to support customer acquisition and retention.

  • Event strategy and management: Formulating and implementing event activation strategies and tactics (event plans) that ensure goals and objectives are met.

  • Advertising: Plan advertising campaigns, including which media to advertise in, such as radio, television, print, online media. Negotiate advertising contracts. Evaluate the look and feel of websites used in campaigns or layouts.

  • Strategic partnership management: Collaborating with external stakeholders, including OEMs, dealers, advocacy groups, NGOs, etc. on joint marketing, sponsorship, or advocacy campaigns.

  • KPI management and reporting: Using integrated marketing principles to track corporate KPIs and department budget; tracking, analyzing, and reporting results.

  • Thought leadership / Strategy : Managing staff Thought Leadership efforts, in the creation of high quality, timely and high-impact outputs. Promoting an environment of shared success and team-work, connecting staff with peers across different practices and consulting areas.

  • Hire and scale team: Training and nurturing team development.

Skills

  • 15+ years of marketing experience

  • Successful track record in senior marketing roles

  • Excellent leadership, interpersonal, and decision-making skills

  • Experience with marcom, branding, product marketing and integrated marketing principles

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills

  • Proven ability to plan and manage budget

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications or relevant field (MBA preferred)
